DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SUPPORT: STOMACH 

 

1, Digestive Enzymes: Enzymedica, Digest Gold, Capsules, 1-3 caps per dose, 1-3 doses a day (often with meals or after heavy meal), max 9 caps a day 

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SUPPORT: INTESTINES

 

2, High Lactobacillus & Bifidobacterium Probiotic: Now Foods, 100 Billion Probiotic, Capsules, 100-200B CFU or 1-2 caps per dose, 1-3 doses a day, max of 3.6 trillion CFU per day (highest amount used in clinical trials)

3, Saccharomyces Boulardii Probiotic: Now Foods, S. Boulardii 5 Billion CFU, Capsules, 5-15B CFU or 1-3 caps per dose, 1-3 doses a day, max 60 billion CFU per day (highest amount used in clinical trials)

4. Prebiotic Fiber (Acacia): Heather's, Acacia Fiber, Powder, 2-6g or 1-3 tsp per dose, 1-3 doses a day, max of 30g per day

5. Magnesium (often Citrate but sometimes Glycinate): Natural Vitality, Natural Calm, Powder (several flavors), 160-480mg or 1-3 tsp per dose, 1-2 doses per day (larger dose often taken at night to support healthy sleep), max of 1000mg a day

6. Glycine: BulkSupplements, Glycine, Powder, 4.5-9g or 1-2 tsp per dose, 1-2 doses per day

(often higher dose is taken at night to promote sleep), max of 25g per day (very high doses of 60-70g/day have been used in clinical studies to treat mental health conditions like schizophrenia) 

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SUPPORT: LIVER & GALLBLADDER 

7. TUDCA (Tauroursodeoxycholic acid): NutriCost, TUDCA 250mg, Capsules, 250-500mg or 1-2 caps per dose, 1-3 doses per day, max of 2000mg a day

8. Taurine: NutriCost, Taurine 1000mg, Capsules, 1-2g or 1-2 caps per dose, 1-3 doses per day, max of 7.5g a day

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SUPPORT: KIDNEYS & RENAL SYSTEM

9. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar: Bragg's, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Liquid, 0.5-1oz or 1-2 tbsp per dose (diluted in a few ounces of water), 1-3 doses per day 

(There are quality control issues [including counterfeit products] for Bragg's ACV on Amazon.com. I recommend purchasing from your local healthfood store or through Vitacost.com)   

ADDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

10. L-Tyrosine: Now Foods, L-Tyrosine 750mg, Capsules, 750-1500mg or 1-2 caps per dose, 1-3 doses per day

11. Vitamin B6 (activated form P-5-P): Superior Labs, Vitamin B6 (P-5-P) 50mg, Capsules, 50mg or 1 cap per dose, 1-2 doses per day

(extra caution is advised with vitamin B6, as daily amounts >200mg have been linked to adverse neurological effects; make sure you aren't receiving notable amounts of B6 from other sources [ex. energy drinks, multivitamin, etc.] before beginning a B6 supplement, whether you plan on using "regular" B6 [pyridoxine] or activated B6 [pyridoxal-5-phosphate or P-5-P])

12. Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid): BulkSupplements, Ascorbic Acid, Powder, 4-12g or 1-3 tsp per dose, 1-3 doses per day 

(Note that very high dose vitamin C protocols have been used successfully by many individuals, made popular in large part by the work of individuals like Dr. Thomas E. Levy, M.D., Dr. Robert F. Cathcart M.D., and 2-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling. Dosages here may go as follows: 5-15g/day for maintenance, 15-25g/day for mild health challenge, 25-50g/day moderate health challenge, and more than 50g/day for severe health challenge, the latter under physician's supervision)

13. Vitamin D3 (derived from fish liver oil not lanolin): BlueBonnet, Vitamin D (from fish liver oil) 5000 IU, Softgels, 5k IU or 1 softgels per dose, 2 doses per day

(in order to achieve vitamin D 25-hydroxy blood test levels of 40-80ng/ml [optimal range] most will be in 5,000 - 15,000 IU/day range)

14. Iron (gentle iron): Natural Factors, Easy Iron 20mg, Chewable Tablet, 20mg or 1 pill per dose, 1-2 doses per day

15. Selenium: Solaray, Yeast-Free Selenium (L-selenomethionine) 100mcg, Capsules, 100mcg or 1 capsule per dose, 1-2 doses per day

16. Zinc: Source Naturals, Zinc Lozenges (gluconate & ascorbate) 23mg, Chewable Tablet, 23mg or 1 lozenge per dose, 1-4 doses per day, max ~100mg per day
